When I was candling some eggs I put in I got to egg 17 before my timer signaling 12 minutes went off..it won't hurt the eggs to be out of the incubator for this period of time will it?

Also when I was putting an egg back in it kind of went in a little rough..this won't affect it will it? It's not like I threw it in there..I was putting it back in the egg turner and it shifted a little.

One more question. My mom was marking the eggs with a pencil..this won't hurt them will it?

I know I have a lot of questions I just don't want to intentionally hurt any chicks..

Hens leave the nest to eat and drink so the eggs can have a "cool down" period without being harmed as long as they are not allowed to go to cool. 12 minutes is not that much of a cool down period. As far as putting the egg back in the turner, just candle it again in a few days and see how the chick is developing. Pencils will not harm the eggs or the chicks inside. Hope this helps you and
