I bought 6 chicks from Tractor Supply 2 weeks ago, so they are about 3 weeks old, but completely forgot to ask what breed they are. On the box all it says is 'Pullets' with a picture of a white chicken and a black and white spotted chicken. Please help! Thanks!

Photos of your actual chicks will be necessary.

All feed stores put chicks in a standard take home box that has some pictures of standard chickens but is not intended to be breed identification....if I understand what you mean.

Do your chickens look like what is pictured on the box???

I thought I uploaded a picture of them but it won't work for some reason! I've tried several times.. Maybe its my poor service. Sorry!

Your photos are all showing now :D

I agree they look to be Red Sexlinks or Production Reds.

if they are Red Sexlinks, they will be pullets, 100% certain, as the chicks are actually color coded by gender...females being reddish-gold while males are pale yellow.

Because I am seeing some striping in a few, those may be Production Reds, which will have been vent sexed at the hatchery with a 90 to 95% certainty, so you could get a rooster (or two if your luck is lousy), but chances are you got girls.

You'll know in a few weeks.

Either one will lay a prolific amount of eggs.
