Male goose acting bonded...

I have had chickens and ducks for years. I know that if you raise them they will imprint/bond to you, especially ducks. But i dont have experience with geese and now im sitting here trying to figure out ones behavior.

He is over a year old maybe 2 now, male Toulouse. He was given to me by a friend 8 months ago when i purchased a couple young males from her. He lives in a pasture with my chickens and ducks. I have since sold the young geese because they were males and i only wanted one. He gets along great with the rest of my poultry, sleeps in the coop at night with them, shares feed with them etc. but if i go outside now he fly's over the fence and follows me everywhere, he even comes in the house. He is super mellow, he will hiss at the dog if he gets too close but for the most part hes easy going. He lets me walk up and pet him too. He never let me get that close when we got him, he wasnt hand raised but now he acts like he was. He does not let anyone else near him, he just runs away. Not aggressive at all towards other humans just avoids them. He just wants me though. He has not tried breeding or doing anything like that. What gives?? Will he chill out when i get him a female? Which is coming soon.

Welcome to BYC.  As a kid I had an Emden gander who was imprinted on me.  When he was 2 or 3 years old I got several goslings.  Within a couple of days he discovered that he was a goose and adopted the gosling.  He later paired with one of the geese and no longer 'loved' me.   I think your gander will fall in love when his lady friend arrives.
