IncuView for Incubating Duck Eggs

Good afternoon everyone. I am interested in incubating duck eggs and have heard that it is harder than chicken eggs. I have been doing a lot of research on incubators and have narrowed it down to the IncuView. I like the fact that it is plastic, that you can really see inside, that is has a fan and seems easy enough to control the humidity. I am trying to stay under $200 and be able to 24 duck eggs at a time.

Has anyone used this for incubating duck eggs? If so, how did it go?

If you have another incubator you recommend instead of this one please let me know. I do plan on be incubating chicken and duck eggs.

Well first of all ducks are not all that hard except the choice of ducks. Call ducks are a challenge but there are other ducks that are a lot easier. So I'm what kind of ducks are you considering??

As far as this bator, I have never used it but I have heard some good reviews on it. It seems to hold temp and humidity good. So it's going to be something you have to try and then give us your opinion.. but looks like you maybe OK with this one..

Thank you! I actually decided to get the Brinsea 20 Advance. I just don't have time to babysit eggs and this seemed to be the most accurate and easy to use. I hope the extra costs saves me money and heartache in the long run.

Ancona. I think they are a great fit for our family and I love the way they look. I have a 9yo and a 6yo so I wanted a duck that was friendly and dual purpose. I am just having a hard time finding them. Is there another duck you know of I should look at?!

Anconas are awesome! I love mine. I ordered them as ducklings from a hatchery but there was a couple that sold eggs as well.

I know Musky's (muscovy) seems to be a very popular one. I know a lot of people who have them and love them. Rouens, Pekins and Cayuga would be another one that's docile,

Runners are popular but I think they look kind of goofy they way they stand. LOL There's a few you might want to check out too.

Calls are NOISE and challenging to try to hatch out, plus they aren't very friendly once they meet the GREAT OUTDOORS. They are great and depend on people when hatched but once they get outside and get that NICE TASTE of FRESH AIR. Oh boy all new ball game, ALTHOUGH, I do know a few people that do have them inside as a pet. They are small but man those girls are LOUD. LOL Can't blame them since they were raised to call in the BIG ducks. LOL I can tell you they do the job of CALLING very well, not to many big ducks come running or FLYING IN but they surely know how to Express themselves... LOL

I have only been on BYC for a few months myself. I would love to hear more about your Ancona. And see pics! I am super excited about them and love all the colors. I think we will be ordering eggs from Quackleberry Farms in Louisiana. Any tips I need to know?

Yes I've had ducks for a while but I only stumbled across the page the other day and really like it, a lot of good advise and information on here!

My Anconas are very nosey, they always have to see what I'm doing out side. They're a very easy and forgiving duck. I would defiantly recommend them for a first time duck owner. My drake is very mellow. He's good with my call duck drakes and isn't brutal with his ladies. I had a pair of Rouens for a little while, the drake was so mean! I'm trying my had at incubating eggs as well this year. So far it's going well. I was going to order from a place in Louisiana as well to try to add some color. Around here it's hard to find, the chocolate and blues. I'm a little worried about ordering eggs and having them shipped. I've read so many different opinions on it.
