You could wait until they are adults and look for the curlycue tail feather.

I'm pretty sure you can only sex Welshies by bill color for the first couple of days. Once they get to be 4-6 weeks old however, you should be able to sex them by their quack pretty easily. How old are your cuties?

Momma to 8 ducks - Rocky, Dexter (male mallards);  Ruby Sue (female mallard); Tony (male buff); Roxy (female fawn and white runner); Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose (female Welsh Harlequins); and 2 kitties, Maggie and Fuffy-cat.

RIP Bullwinkle and Turkey-duck :(

They are 12 days old in the photos. Should they start quacking soon?

The earliest I have personally heard anything resembling a quack from a female is around 3 weeks, and it was very faint. The most definite quacks didn't come until 4 weeks, with another girl not starting until around 5. So I'd say start paying closer attention in about 10 days. :)
