Hey! I have 4 eggs in the incubator on day 7 and I plan on keeping one or two. I live in Florida and the HOA of my community says I can keep them as long as they don't live outside. I'm trying to come up with a coop to make in the garage although they will get to run around outside during the day. I kind of need to work fast now. I should have looked into this before. Any good Ideas?

If you can cordon a section of your garage off specifically to serve as a coop it will save you having to actually construct a coop within the garage. You could make a small exit / entrance door in the external wall of the garage, connected to a run. Within the cordoned area, all thats needed is some roosts, nest boxes and space for the flock (4 sq feet per chicken) to get out of the weather, if they wish. You would also need to build a means of access to the coop area. If you check out the Coop section you may find some inspiration. This idea is only acceptable if the flock has access to the outdoors.

All the best

You could always use a chicken tractor type coop. That way you can wheel it in and out of the garage. Also if you ever move you would be able to take it with you. It won't require any permanent change to your garage and you could easily move it out of the garage to clean if needed.

Good idea but we don't have enough room for that and we only plan on having 2 or 3 chicks
