I need chick info

I have 3 chickens in the garage currently. We moved mid-winter in Indiana so not prime time for coop/run building.

Anyways, you have to make sure they can't get out of whatever area you have for them. So floor to ceiling temp walls or if you do a half pallet wall, you need netting over the top. Unless you don't mind your entire garage being absolutely covered in chicken poop and I'm not exaggerating. My girls get into everything and poop over every square inch of a 3 car garage. I didn't think my temporary solution through haha

So you lock the chickens in a 3' by 6' coop for the night and release them into a 10' by 30' run? Do you release them into the yard for free ranging? They can all live together in the coop, I think. What do you feed the adult hens?

Yes they are in at night and in the run in the day. When I was younger my mom and I had a big flock of silkies, Polish, and silkie/polish mixes but they where all killed by Hawks and then disappeared all in one night except for one silkie rooster. So not going to make that mistake again. Especially because I have a dog that likes to eat quick, small creatures. I feed them layer feed. Then the occasional treat of corn or mealworms.

Yeah I do that all the time. I even have some cat toys for them to peck at in there and they sometimes play with them! Then I have a big labrynth of roosting poles for them to jump up on. And I also take big piles of leaves to scratch around in. And my mom and I are thinking about making a walkway up on the side of the fence but we have no idea how to bulid it...
