'Normal' for young girls to all start laying within days of each other?

Yeah, I'm a newbie, and over the moon that our girls stated laying this week! They are all the same age, about five months, but different breeds, so expected that they might mature at different rates...But bam! First the EE laid, then the New Hampshire, then the Austrolorp...all within three days. Waiting on the barred rock....

So, the question is, which more affects a flock...nature or nurture? In other words, are the other chickens starting to lay because one started?

A combo of the two, they will lay when they are ready but when a bunch are coming into lay at the same time, they will usually start laying at the same time, oh and before I forget welcome to BYC.
