I always find helpful stuff on here. I need help! My husband and I are doing our first round of incubation and I am having some issues with the incubator (little giant still air 9300)Tonight will be day 23 and we still have no babies to hatch. I don't think the humidity has been showing right ( only reads like 50%) so we went and bought an indoor outdoor thermometer with the humidity gauge on it. The temp has been off (only shows 94 degrees) and the humidity shows 70 to 75% on the new one. Should we give up on this round of baby chicks? What is a good incubator to get?

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I would candle your eggs amd check for movement or any peeping.
If you know your new thermometer/hygrometer to be correct your hatch may be a bust if the temp amd humidity have been off. This happened with my first hatch as I didn't double check and just went on what the bator was telling me. Have you checked out this article ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101
It's a bible when it comes to incubating and hatching and I'm sue you will find it most helpful.
Please do pop by the incubation section too, I'm sure there will be members there who have your brand of incubator ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-amp-hatching-eggs

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

I am super excited to say we at least have 2 eggs peeping this evening. I will most definitely check out these links. Thank u so much.

Good, I figured the lower temps = added days till hatch. Sending good hatching vibes your way. Please do update for us - we love baby chicks.

I am happy to say we have 2 baby chicks to hatch. Tonight will be day 24 and we have no signs of any other peeping. Sure wished our temp was correct when we first started but this was our first time. Maybe next time will be better. Thanks for all the advice.
