This being their 1-week landmark, I decided they were passed most of the danger from the early days and I would give them names.

I want to keep a running photo journal of the chicks week by week just for fun, but also because I am curious about the weekly changes and when they occur for each chick. It seems that they all have grown in their first wing feathers, their heads are less "puffy-looking", and two of them (one of the EEs and my Golden Comet) have started getting their tail feathers in. I have also noticed the feet changing color. Whereas they all used to be a light pinkish color, the Australorps' legs are starting to darken up and the EEs are getting blue-green legs. One of my EEs got puffy cheeks too - so funny looking (we named her Chipmunk).

Here are pics - Enjoy!

Easter Egger
So chipmunk was named for her poofy cheeks! She is adorable and the only EE out of my three to get the poofs. She still has lighter legs than the other two EEs, but they are not as pink as on day 1.

Easter Egger
Nugget got her name as a warning because at first she acted all sweetiepoo on me but when we got home, she became a bit of a brat. She still comes running up to me at the side of the brooder, but she isn't very sweet to the other babies lol. You can see Nugget's legs have darken up to a greenish color.

Easter Egger
Sparrow (especially right now at 1 week) looks exactly like a sparrow lol! There was no way around this one. Sparrow's legs have also darkened quite a bit and are a greenish color as well. Her tail feathers are coming in too!

Black Australorp
Pepper is precious! She is the tiniest out of the six and is still small at a week. She is getting her her dark legs in.

Golden Comet
Popcorn is my little darlin'. She is so sweet and likes to sit quietly in my hand and look around quite contentedly. Since she is a Golden Comet, she will be white and gold and even now resembles buttered popcorn! You can also see a bit of tail feather coming in for her too.

Black Australorp
Pot Pie... well... she thinks she is the queen bee. I don't know if this will be lasting behavior for her, but she may just end up being the first lady. I gave her this name to take her down a peg or two. She is very cute though hehe!

Loving the names and stalking your threads since you mentioned they came from Bowman's

Can't wait to see yours too!

A couple don't have breed next to them? They are all so fluffy and cute!

Aw thanks! Dang - I forgot to put the breeds on the bottom of the pics: The Easter Eggers are Chipmunk, Nugget, and Sparrow (pics 1, 2 and 3), the Australorps are Pepper and Pot Pie (pics 4 and 6), and the Golden Comet is Popcorn (pic 5). I will update the original post

Oh you most definitely will, it will be chick overload on my phone, lol. Just out of curiosity, what time did you get to bowman's for your chicks? I was planning to get there when they open, but it's an hour commute and after daylight savings it might hurt a little (I am not an early morning person)!

I hear ya lol! It opens at 8am and I got there at exactly 9:30 (I have a 2 yr old who is my excuse for taking forEVER to get ready to go hehehe). As mentioned in the other thread though, they sold out of the RIRs before I even got there. I couldn't believe it. The girl at the front said that sometimes they get stampeded at opening and other times it's slow. So I guess maybe a few people just came by and snagged up all of em real quick. I knew that any of my choice of breeds could possibly be gone, so I had a backup plan when I went in.
