I recently lost a 1 1/2 yr old leghorn. she had had vent discharge for a long time which I could never get cleared up. when I found her, she had blood on her backend. I brought her in and I noticed a large lump in her abdomen. I thought she was egg bound. she passed away during the night. her belly was really extended so I cut it open starting at the vent and went downward ad this huge lump just popped out. I sliced it open. here are some pictures. I'm hoping someone can tell what I found. A tumor? the one side had a hole in it so I'm assuming that's where the blood came from...

It looks to me like a pus egg from infection of the oviduct or salpingitis. It is made up of egg material ẃith multiple layers. Internal laying and egg peritonitis are all in the same group of reproductive problems. Cancer is also common in the reproductive tract. Sorry from your loss, and thanks for including the pictures.
