I am new to this chicken stuff, and have to admit that my wive and I both are really getting in to the whole thing. We started 4 months ago with 3 inherited layer adults and 5 three day old chicks. For the last 2 months, they both have been sharing a pen and coop only separated by chicken wire. I was told yesterday that we can now incorporate the chicks with the adults. So, now that they are 16 weeks old, tonight when they go to roost, I plan on taking down the chicken wire and letting them wake up together in the morning. Any advice out there? Was this person right in suggesting this? Am I making the right decision? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
