We have three of them in the neighborhood. They appear to be courting, breeding and fighting. I think threes a crowd.

Red-shouldered hawk
Not generally a threat to chickens. I have two pairs squabling over my parcel. One of the hawks sunbathes in close proximity to my chickens that do not even seek cover when it is around.
