I'll start off by saying that King Silkie is the most robust Rooster. Always energetic and bossing around the girls. We have had him and our other hens for 5 years, no health issues- until today. My mom went to feed the chickens and King Silkie was NOT himself. Flopping about, acting drunk. So I went and read about Marek's Disease but I can't tell if it affects older birds.. Everything I've read is pretty inconclusive. KS is laying with one leg kind of tucked under him and one leg back but his legs are clean and he did eat from my hand. He is alert, but he just can't walk or stand. He doesn't get a special food, just his scratch and the layer pellet mix with occasional oyster shell. His poop is watery also (I read pretty much every post available on here in my google searches and I can't figure this out!). The girls are acting GREAT. All acting fine, all eating, none of the same symptoms.

I know he probably won't make it through the night, but I am still wanting answers to this.

Update: So while I was waiting for my post to be cleared, he stood up for a minute before we had to go home tonight. He ate and drank from my hand too.

Update: So he survived the night and he ate all his food and water was gone. I've also read this could be a Vitamin deficiency?

Another update, and this time I'm feeling SUPER good about it! He's sitting up now and walked a little, completely better than yesterday. A little more hesitant to eat, but he walked and didn't flop all over the place! \o/

Edit: So currently we have him in our quarantine/chick raising coop with a heat lamp and just a few minutes ago he drank some water!

Another small update.. Still not walking, not even a little like before but plenty alert and hungry and thirsty as well as eating & drinking on his own if I put the food & water close enough since he cannot walk to get it on his own. My mom took him outside today and let him enjoy the sunlight for a little while while she held him. He also had some of his favorite treat which is apples and he was pretty eager to eat that. I'm pretty worried about him but at this point I'm not sure there's much we can do.
