When should you change your baby chicks shavings, daily, or weekly?

Depends on how many chicks you have. I had around 15 and I cleaned it every two or three days. It also depends on the size of your brooder.

5 dogs, 4 cats, 15 chickens, a lot of fish, 4 mandarin ducks, 2 parakeets, and 10 baby quail

Don't try to rush yours or our lives living is a gift worth enjoying;)

I like anime, animals, food, and my life full of mystery and surprises!

OK I only have 6 right now, expected to get 6 more but a large tote.

Dimensions of the tote?  Different people call different sizes large.  A 5' tote?  Yes, that would do for 6 chicks for a few days but you'd want to have more space much quicker than you'd think.  The last time I brooded 10 chicks I had them in a 10' by 10' area and they used every bit of it.  I'd check the bedding every day and if you see that there is any moisture, replace that section and then replace the whole bit about every 3-4 days.

How can I think outside of the box when they won't let me out?
