Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good shows to visit or compete at around the country. I go to all the shows in Washington State and they are mostly decent size. I have been looking at some California shows which would be reasonable to travel to, the California Classic, Pacific Poultry Breeders Association, Greater California, and a few others. I also know of Ohio National. Are there any other really big shows that are worth going to?

You just missed the APA Nationals, held in Modesto.

California is a leader in really good shows.

PoultryShowCentral.com will give you all the dates and locations. Acknowledged better, larger shows include the Ohio National, as you say, but also Lucasville, OH, Knoxville, TN, The NorthEast Poultry Congress, the Newnan, GA show, and so on.

The Oklahoma show is pretty good because of it's location. Texans can come out, whereas, the TX shows are closed to TX only birds.

Of course, the whole AI scare caused many good shows to miss last year. Let's hope that stuff is done.

I am in WA state, and have only attended the smaller local shows. Unfortunately, they don't always have the best representatives of the breeds. It is difficult to tell from PoultryShowCentral.com which shows are large and attract the better breeders, and which ones feature only my neighbor's hatchery stock. Gingernutranger, since you're from WA state, which shows do you recommend, especially in western WA?
