Hello. I have been a lurker for a few months now, and decided it was time to join. My husband and I, along with our 4 kids, bought an acre of land last summer and we are trying to start growing and raising some of our own things, starting with chickens. My husband is in the process of building us a coop (thank you everyone who had such great ideas on this site), and my kids and I are going to go get chicks from our local feed store on March 18th.
