Wound Care Advice for Silkie Hen (Caution: Pictures)

Thought you guys would like to see how the wound looks tonight! Her 4 day course of PCN ended yesterday and she has remained inside this entire time. We have continued to flush the wound 1-2 times a day with the betadine solution and coat the wound with Vetericyn gel. I am COMPLETELY amazed!! Nora is doing well and is alert and happy! :) Thank you all so much for your contributions to her care and kind words!

Thank yoj for the updste, and the wound looks much better. I would stop using the betadine, since it can become toxic and also may prevent wound healing if used too long. The Vetericyn is fine though. Hoping for a complete recovery in a few weeks.
