Hi our chicks are pipping but not out of their shell yet. After they are all out and fluffy I read that you have to dip their beaks in their water dispenser once you put them in their warm baby chick box so they know where the water is. Do you really have to do this? The last batch we hatched I did, but they didn't like it very much and would crane their heads out of the way. Can they find it on their own okay?
Also, I was reading about pasting up and read that if you put a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar into the water it prevents pasting up. Is this true?
It's been 6 hours since the first crack in the shell and I would ask how much longer we have to wait because I really want to meet them but I see from reading here that it can take 24 hours from the first outside pip to they finally actually come out and say hello world, so I won't ask, I'll just sit here peering at them through the window, anxiously waiting. Pacing. Peering. Waiting.
