This is Tank, a silver pencil bantam cochin. He is named Tank because he is built like one and has a tendency of just bowling over his sisters and brothers. Besides clearly acting like a little roo, in our two-week-old inspection and photography session today, he is clearly developing wattles- at two weeks! We had to sit down and have The Talk about how young roosters must think with their brains and NOT their wattles, as roosters who think with their wattles don't get to stay here. For all the good it does me.
He's also the slowest feathering chick I've ever seen- he didn't get feathers at all until a couple days ago, and his sibs have all their wings and tails in already!
Despite the obvious male-ness, I quite love the little chunk. He's sort of derp-y and totally cracks me up. Hopefully he doesn't get aggressive and we can keep him around.
Anyone else dealing with any already-obviously-male chicks?
