How to control the mice population within the barn?

Not IN the bed

. The dresser his tank sets on is on my side of the bed. When he's active I lay there and listen to him bump his nose against the lid. But we have a good relationship. I water him and grow mice for him to eat. He stays in his tank. We're both happy.

Thanks everyone! Well it looks like I could get a snake or a special mouse eating rooster! lol
Just wanted to mention that we don't have rats here in Alberta so no worries about that happening! I also relocate them several miles away so that they are not able to return when I do so. I looked into the electronic ones but it says they die within 5 seconds...and I just can't do that to those little things. I believe that they feel the same pain as dogs other mammals and birds do etc. So can't I inflick that upon them. I have taken steps to block off all and any holes and hopefully this will help as well. Thanks so much for all the tips...sorry your dealing with someone that is so soft to deal with lol

Could you tell me where did you buy this electric trap?

I use Victor electric traps, they are pricey but are very well worth the investment. They electrocute mice in an instant so I believe it is a better way to control them and a more humane way to go. I throw the dead mice in the pasture so they can be eaten by vultures, keeping the food chain going....
