Retrofit sliding bolt latch?

OK, thank you again, meepbeep, I like those hasps very much and a luggage lock with numerical code would be easy enough, I think. I have visions of those racoons sitting there all night working on the lock problem...lol. Back to the hardware store...

No, we have no raccoons, they are American only. I don't deal with any predators at all, really. I'm in the suburbs, not the country. The most likely might be a feral or stray cat but there'd be plenty of vermin and other wildlife they could be chasing without aspiring to take down a chicken in a house.
