Upstate NY
My husband and I are homesteaders here in upstate NY. We have 32 acres and this is a maple syrup farm. We built our own place here from our own forest. We live complely off grid with solar and wind. 20 years here. Just got chickens again. A beautiful rooster and 4 of his ladies. A young friend had too many and he was going to put Rhett in the pot for being aggressive. Got there just in time. They were too crowded and he was being a rooster. Fine now. I hold him and pet him and tell him how handsome is. The girls settled right down and are laying. I had my cousin name them as she's in the city and can't have any. Time to go sit with them while my very elderly corgi is napping and the cats are snoozing with the wood stove going. My husband is at the sap house boiling syrup.

I'd love to see a picture or two of your place, it sounds wonderful.
