Are these buff orp chicks?

I'm hoping that ours turn out like that too.

We had some Red Stars (from what I understand, similar sex-linked hybrids) several years ago that were solid and not multi-color. While they were good girls and awesome layers, they we kind of plain looking.

If ours turn out like the ones pictured, they will look great with the rest of our birds. I like a good variety of colors in a flock.
 
Weird.. I got my buff orpington chick 3 weeks ago that looks exactly like yours, at Wilco. Looks like I got the wrong breed of chicken too! Mine has the redish pair of stripes down its back like yours..

half the time I don't think ANY of the employees have the first clue about what breeds of chicks they have. Chances are they aren't even labeled correctly sometimes. Most every place here just tosses them all in a big stock tank and sells them as assorted straight run or assorted pullet. I think there is one place around here that separates them by breed anymore, but they close too early for me to make it by after work and I am never able to go get my chicks there!
