Hello All!!!

Don't let the "Screen Name" alarm you...I am a mother to 3 very lively boys who are very convinced the Zombie Apocalypse is coming...all thanks to my wonderful Hubby!! HA HA HA

A little background on My Crew.  Jon (the Hubs) and I have as I mentioned three amazing boys!  Our oldest is Chandller, age 15; next there is Beckette, age 10; and last but not least there is Kelan, age 4!  All of which are new to the Country Life.  Myself, I was raised on a farm until I graduated from high school.  At that time I moved to the city...forgot how to get dirty...and have been miserable until a month ago :)  Jon's roots are in the mountains of TN, but he was born and raised a city boy.  He is very hard worker tough and has never had a problem getting his hands (or the rest of him) filthy from hard work!  Our boys are in public school and both Jon and I work full time.  I am an insurance producer for State Farm, and Jon just celebrated 12 years with our local Sheriff's office...and is a US Army Vet.  To complete our heard we have 5 pets as of now.  Our oldest Fur-Baby is Duke. He is a 5 year old Lab/Pittie mix, and he is the ROCK of our four legged clan!  His "little sister" is Divot.  She is a little over 2 years old and is a Dachshund/Jack Russell mix.  Then we have Oden (Oddie according to our 4 year old) who is a 3 year old Siamese mix and our "property prowler".  Prior to his "de-masculating" (Jon's term for neutering), Oddie sired 2 brothers whom we found trapped under a neighbors HVAC after their mother disappeared from our street.  We appropriately adopted them and they are now a year old!!  The would be M.A.K. (Mean A** Kat) and D2 (because he is the absolute clone of a cat I had as a child named Daytona).  All three have since been "de-masculated" :)

As we are new to the country setting, we are starting from scratch!  No "farm" animals at this time, but we are planning on starting with CHICKENS!!!!  The property we just purchased came with quite a bit of used chicken stuff...most is garbage but I am slowly determining what is what.  I found this site on Pinterest as I was looking for Coop Plans, and I am very excited to have done so!  I have so much to learn, and I am an over thinker so having somewhere to go to ask all my questions is great!!!  My crew and I love the outdoors and we all are very excited to be getting our family back to basics and getting a little dirty too!!

Hi and welcome to BYC, and congrats on your move to the country (I hate city life, but for reasons beyond my control I am living in one :hit). In addition to the learning centre, joining your state thread (just type your state in the search box) will also put you in contact with other BYC members in your area.

The members here are amazing - very friendly and helpful, so if you need an answer to a question or simply want some reassurance that what you are doing is ok, then post away - we all help each other out here at BYC.

All the best

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! :)

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
