2016 Peepers - What are you waiting on?

This thread is to share what you're getting or hatching for 2016!

I wasn't going to get any more laying chickens this year. Ducks, geese, and meat chickens were all that I was going to get.

So, here's the shipments I'm waiting on now:

March 16th:
6 Porcelain d'Uccles
6 Porcelain OEGB
6 Gold Laced OEGB
6 Blue Millefleur OEGB
1 Ancona Cockerel

March 28th:
2 Welsh Harlequin Drakes
10 Welsh Harlequin Ducks
1 M/F pair American Buff Geese
3 Hybrid Pekins

April 20th:
25 Cornish X
8 Lavender Silkies
4 Bantam Buff Orpingtons
2 American Buff Geese females

To Be Determined Date from Breeder:
1 Crested Cream Legbar Cockerel
8 Assorted English Orpingtons


And here's what's currently incubating:

April 3rd, under a broody:
5 Muscovy eggs
8 Ancona duck eggs

Ooh!

This month:

- Penedesenca, Bantam Ameraucana, American Pit Game, and one mystery egg due on the 28th

- Booted Bantam, mixed Silkie, and Cornish eggs in on the 29th - probably some more gamefowl eggs as well

May:

From Schlect Hatchery
25 Cornish Cross pullets
18 Broad Breasted White turkeys
1 Blue Laced Red Wyandotte

From Dick Horstman (soon as I can get em ordered)
12 Silver Penciled Rock chicks

And my big yearly mutt hatch when I'll be filling my Octagon and Mini.

In June and July I'll be getting some Polish and Silkies from work.

I'll probably have a ton more hatches I haven't though of yet between now and then.

I'm picking up an Octagon 20 in a few minutes actually. I'll be testing it out with goose eggs once I have enough collected.

Well, 2016 turned into our rebuild year.... and then I decided to expand .... then chicken math go the best of me.

Feb Acquisitions
2 French Black Copper Marans chicks (male and female)
3 Partridge Silkies (no clue on gender)
1 Blue Frizzle Polish (85% sure a boy)
1 Golden Lace Polish (75% sure a girl)
2 Bearded d'Anvers (Cockerel and Pullet -- and she is a GOOD layer and now broody)

Incubator Hatching
2 d'Anvers (collected from our pair -- one hatched this morning!)
16 mix of Olive Eggers, Easter Eggers, and Chocolate Eggers (4 have hatched today)

Waiting On
4 Ameraucana (getting from a breeder soon -- 2 lavender and 2 blue)
2 Australorps (in April)
1 Silver Lace Wyandotte (in April)
1 Gold Lace Wyandotte (in April)
1 Buff Orpington (in April)
1 Speckled Sussex (in April)

Chicken math gets us all eventually! It looks like you'll have a colorful egg basket and a colorful flock.

EE mutts
BSL mutts
Whatever else I can find. Possibly quail too...

Buying:
Leghorn
Maybe an EE roo, Light brahma, Speckled sussex, or Cuckoo Marans... Haven't decided yet!

The only color I'm missing currently is the chocolate eggs. One of these days I'll get some Marans. Maybe later this year.

I really enjoyed my Speckled Sussex. A hawk took my last one a few weeks back.

I have a very small order for 2016. mine will Hatch & Ship On April 11th. in my order I have: 1 free female "Suprise breed" layer. Eggs are going to be donated to needy people.

for a total of 9 Chicks.

I'm very excited. I was going to brood with my old heat lamp but then decided I was going to try the "mama heating pad" i got a little nervous about that and I Finally Broke Down (after wanting one for Years) and purchased a Brinsea Ecoglow 20 Chick "Radiant Heat Brooder". Wayfair online has a very good price for them right now. Compared to other sites it's Quite a savings! It arrived yesterday and I put it together and checked it and it was working like it should. So that's what I'm going to be using this year. it's adjustable so as the chicks grow you can raise it up. so far I like it. I just need my chicks now! My chicks were Ordered in January so I've had a loooong wait!!
