HELP! - Page 2

Poor baby. Glad she is in caring hands.

Was she ever walking? If she was like this before could you contact the guy to get some history? It sort of sounds like she might have been injured. If it hasn't been going on too long she might recover with some TLC but she might not. Can you take her to a vet to get some tests done?

Glad you took them in.  So it's a drake (boy) and a duck (girl)?

Sometimes females get injured from mating.  So you may need to separate them.

Do you know what they were being fed?

I would get her on a good breeder ration if at all possible, or a layer pellet, and add poultry vitamins with probiotics and electrolytes to her water twice a week for a couple of weeks, then once a week for a couple of months.

I would crush a 250 mg calcium citrate tablet and add half of that to a treat that she would eat.  I would do that for three or four days, just in case she is calcium deficient.

Keep giving her tub time.  She may have internal injuries or a spinal injury.  Sometimes it can be as simple as a pinched nerve, and it finally begins to improve and they are mobile again.

Please keep us updated.

B vitamins won't hurt - they may help, as they help the  nervous system.

A quarter teaspoon of turmeric sprinkled on her food may help, also - it is anti-inflammatory.

Please PM me, or use @Amiga in the message if you would like to hear from me soon.

Apparently she/he? had been walking but the old owner hadn't been to where they were for a while since it was his exs house. So I have no idea how long the poor thing has been using its wings to scoot around

@brittneyelaine  could  be  a nurtrient def from not being fed properly, I'd start with some good poultry vitamins and some good feed not just cracked corn like some folks think is good feed. Not saying you do but it seems some do. Give her plenty of tub time in warm water [makes the muscles more flexible] then I'd wrap her in a towel and examine her legs and feet for any swelling, bumble foot or any other abnormalities like unusual heat in certain areas.

If you can find Poultry Nutri drench that is a good vitamin to add to their drinking water and it wouldn't hurt to add some Brewers yeast or Nutritional yeast to their feed, Food grade 1 Tab to 1 cup of feed.

Welcome to BYC and please let us know if any of this helps.
