Hi - we have decided to get some Serama hatching eggs for our broody Bantam Cochin. She is currently brooding in an elevated nest box. We would like to move her down to floor level so we don't have to worry about eggs rolling out and breaking or chicks falling and getting hurt once they hatch. I've seen pics of cardboard boxes serving as nest boxes and we could fit one in the hen house with no problem. Wondering if we should try to move her or just leave her where she is. Also, should we leave a few larger unfertilized eggs under her since the Serama eggs are so tiny? I've been doing lots of reading but any advice would be really appreciated.
