i need to become NPIP (i've always hesitated because i was honestly more afraid of what may come in here from the place last visited by the individual doing the testing -- no disrespect intended in anyway ;)) ....

i live in Boydton VA (central southern VA -- 5 - 10 min from the NC border)

if any of you have recommendations for individuals or vets that you've had positive experiences with, i would greatly appreciate names and numbers :D

if you are a vet or an individual who performs the needed tests, please feel free to respond

flock consists of:

about 50 geese (sebbies and sebbie crosses)

40+ peas

40ish silkies and showgirls

kind regards, john

i can't say how they do it in your area but when they test (every 6 months here) they don't step out of their vehicle til they have on plastic boot covers.   they then put on a full 'hazmat' type coveralls, hair net and latex gloves so bio-security is at the top of their list.  they then spray all their equipment with a disinfectant and take off their bio-suit and place it into a bag as they are getting back into their vehicle (for you to dispose of), they never step foot on your property without being covered.

you'll have to set up though your state USDA for getting started, they may have a local agent in your county extension office or you can call your state vet and they'll hook you up with whomever does your area.
