New to backyard chickens we just got our coop done and got three hens today one of the ladies has cuts from the rooster any ideals on how to treat the cuts

Welcome to the flock.

if the cuts aren't too bad just spray them with 'Blue Koat' and they'll be fine (you can get it at Tractor Supply).

in extreme situations i've had to use a few stitches to hold the wound closed, then just spray liberally with the blue kote

You could wash out with saline solution and then apply Neosporin (NO CAINE). If any redness is showing the others will start pecking at it. In that cause you would have to either separate her or spray with Blu Kote to disguise it.

Hi and welcome to BYC. You may wish to give your roo a bit of a time out from your girls. The recommended roo to hen ratio is 1:10 - no greater excuse for chicken maths!
