Grieving old duckie

advice please!

One of my 2 girls passed away today. She was nearly seven so really good for a mini silver appleyard and she had such a fun attitude.

Anyway, this has left her old sister bereft and calling for her.

Is it best for us to take her to our local farm to be with other ducks or will the shock of the move at her age cause more stress? Is she better off being cared for at home alone?

Thanks in advance.

My condolences and prayers go to your sweet duck! 💔

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I think the shock of moving her would be to much for her.  Is there anyway you can get a female duck to come and live with her?

thank you for your kind words. I would be loathe to bring another singleton in and have the same issue when my old girl dies, likely in next 12 months at her age, poor bub. Only got room for two or I'd bring in 2 together now. 😢

How sad for you and your duck.  Ducks really don't like to be alone.  I hope you can find her a companion. We have a two year old gimpy khaki campbell that would be just ducky.  (Nevada:)
