I just got home from work and went straight downstairs to check on my girls. I've had a couple of pasty butt problems, but have always been able to clear it up. Now this girl looks like she's having a major problem. She did have some soft poo sticking out so I soaked it off with some warm water. What do I do???
 
Make sure that it is the vent, and if it is that is a prolapsed vent or cloaca. Apply honey or hemorrhoid cream to the vent to help swelling decrease. Try to push the prolapse back in, and hold it there for a few minutes. It may come back out, but keep pushing it back in often. These chicks often don't make it, but hopefully this little one will with good care.
