Show Chicken on the ground or in a hutch?

How do people with show chickens keep them?

I have a rabbit hutch, but im trying to debate. Is keeping a show chicken (such as a serum) better to keep them in a  hutch?, In a cage?, or on the grassy ground?

On July, 28th 2016, I lost my Most Beloved Bird "Miss Red" She was a beautiful Rhode Island Red at 3 years old. She was the most perky, loving and tolerent bird i EVER had!!! Miss Red loved to go on walks and sit in laps. She even went to 2 parades and a 1st grade classroom.
