I bought some hybrids in the summer at point of lay, hoping to add some white eggs to our colourful egg basket. The white stars (if that's what they are) are laying pale pinkish coloured eggs. Is that normal? It doesn't matter too much as they're still lovely big eggs but I'm a little disappointed especially since we've waited 6 months for them to finally lay!

Eggs - very big!

Hens - very friendly/inquisitive and HUGE. I call them my dinosaur chickens as they're so prehistoric looking. Their feathers are really close to their bodies too with no "fluff" (completely different to my Orpingtons) so they really are as massive as they look. Neither of them will perch (too heavy?) so they sleep on a bed of straw. This seems to lead to them getting a mucky behind :(
