Hello from the Matskevich Family.

Hello, my husband and I just got our first chickens this week. We got 10 babies, 5 Black Australorp and 5 Rhode Island Red. This is the first time we have chickens, however my father-in-law has been raising them for a few years so we have some help with him.

We were researching about the breeds and which ones were better for our family, and that is how I found Backyard Chickens. Our babies are about 5 days old, we are using pine shavings and a red 350watt bulb to keep the temperature for them.

Right now we are also preparing to start the garden, with the nice temperature we are having in the Northeast during this month it's not going to take long.

That is it for now, I really enjoy the help Backyard Chickens.com is providing us, being a first timer we have questions all the time, and we get a lot of answers here.

Very excited to see all our babies grow!:jumpy

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
