Very new to this,as I'm still building our first coop. Hope to have everything in a couple weeks to be ready for our brood. We're going to start off with three chicks and see where this takes us.

What breed of chicks are you getting? There are some helpful articles on chick care in the Learning Center (if you haven't already found them).

Thank you. I'm leaning towards Orpington and Plymouth Rock breeds. They have those and a few others at outer local ranch store. Hope they're still around in a month.
 
Finally brought our chicks home today. Ended up with four-2 Buff Orpingtons, a Silver Laced Wyandotte, and a Barred Rock. My 6 year old is super excited and keeps asking if I'm sure I'll have the coop done in time.
