Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens

Possibly my best idea yet...a rotten stump that has been in my yard for years, that I was wondering WHY was it there....welll now I know, because I believe it will "inoculate" my Forest Floor....with everything good...chicks are also on it like white on rice....I am sure there are super yummy bugs in there that they can see and I can't....

I love all those ideas!! Looks awesome! We're building our coop now! How did you attach the pine branches? I had one in the run they LOVED but somehow knocked down. Put it back but I don't think it's at the same spot it was before and doesn't seem as stable and now they rarely use it :( I just stuck mine through the chainlink fence but the new run won't be chainlink plus yours seems so secure.

Awww thanks so much kdogg! I had to think about those roosts for a while with the hardware cloth and all...finally I cut up some wire hangers and made hangers that would hook into the hardware cloth, bent them up so they were stable....then hooked them in the HW cloth...think horizontal U in the coop then 2 vertical Us to hang on fencing....I know, hard to image but form it around the branches then two hooks on the two open ends...seems stable so far...let me know if this makes no sense...

Aw no problem! It's true and it looks great :)

And ahh that makes sense! I'll have to try that :)

wonderful! I was even thinking you could twist the wire around the branches x 1 and then the two ends could be bent to hook through hardware cloth or whatever is being used, even more stable...

Next I will have to post my chicken catcher...lol, more wire hanger tricks...must take pic first...
