Neighbor Problems

Hello,
I am new to this forum and to guniea fowl. I am a beginning farmer in Oregon. My family own 18 acres of farm land that I grew up on. Last year we got 10 guniea keets to free range on our property. Our neighbors next to us are cattle farmers and we have never been on great terms with them. They do not respect our property boundaries, they spray on our side of the fence and have completely cleared their riparian area just up stream from us. Our birds usually once a day will go under the barbed wire fence by the creek and on to their property. My neighbors really don't like this and now are making claims that the birds are eating their pasture and eating the grain in their hay. They have called the sheriff on us as well. I now know that I really should have informed them before getting the birds and greatly regret not asking them. But I have the birds now and trying to figure out the best options. Are my birds (now 8, due to predation) actually harming their pasture? Is this an actual concern to them or are they just finding reason to get after us? We have about 8 acres of open pasture that they don't appear to be damaging at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Rose

:welcome  Sorry for what you are dealing with.  Realistically your birds are doing no harm to their Pasture, but the simple fact that they are going there will result in continued complaints from your neighbors.  Some people are just like that.  I can see no solution other than penning your birds or rehoming them.  I seriously doubt that your neighbors are going to change.
