I haven't ever bought chicks from a feed store before. I usually buy them at four weeks old from our local FFA chapter. But I decided to go to the feed store this year. Silly old me forgot to check all chicks to make sure no injuries where present. A few hours after I brought them home I was watching them and thought one might be acting funny. When I picked her up she had very hard crusted on poop around her vent. She is however still able to poop. Upon closer inspection I saw a small amount of dry blood and realized someone must have pulled at some of the crusty poop and tore out some feathers possibly taking the skin with it. She appears to have a hole in her skin if that makes sense. I'm not sure what to do and id rather save her than take her back. Please help!

Can you post pictures?
Sounds like possible pasty butt. Gently wash her bum in warm water to remove the dried poo. Make sure to dry her good. You can apply some Vetericyn ointment or plain neosporin to the raw area. If it is bright red and noticeable you may need to dab on a little bluekote to cover the redness so she doesn't get picked on by the others.
