Hello!
I just bought my first chicks yesterday!
A Welsummer and an Araucana.
They are a week old.
I have them in my diy brooder right now and am having trouble keeping the temperature up.
The weather outside is low 70s in the day and low 50s at night.
I only have two chicks and they are in a plastic storage bin, in the garage.
Any tips would help!
Thanks
Sara

The best temps for them right now maybe for another week or 2 is 95* and gradually drop 5* in following weeks, Especially theres only 2 of them. A non coated lamp bulb hanging SECURELY above and a thermometer on their level.

. When room temperatures are low or inconsistent - it's hard for a heat lamp to compensate. Could you put the brooder in a warmer area?

You've been given some great advice already (don't let them get chilled) so I'll just say hello!
