Free-Ranging Eastern Wild Turkeys

I am considering buying a few eastern wilds and would like to know how far they range? Will they stay and live where I feed them or should I build a coop and fence? Please don't spare any details if you have information on this subject! Thanks

The first thing that you need to do is to contact your local G&F Dept. or game warden.  They can very quickly let you know if and what kind of permit that you need to have or if you are even allowed to have them.  Every state is different on their laws regarding wild turkeys.

In my state the G&F require a permit and a property and pen inspection before allowing a person to have wild turkeys.  They also do not permit the permittees to free range their wild turkeys.

Your local game warden can clear up these types of issues for you.

Welsummers, mixed breed chickens, Blue Slate turkeys, Sweetgrass turkeys and guineas.

In wonderful Wyoming.
