Hello, im still a little new here, hatching quail eggs, in a hommade incubator. The tem ranges from 95-102. First question, is 102 too high? I can keep it at 102 easily, but as soon as i poke an air hole it goes to 95-99. Its 102 most of the time, is that okay ?

Still air?

Yeah, but it has a slight air movement when i turn my ceiling fan on, due to the placement of the holes it has a slight ... air current? Type thing where i can feel warm air coming out of holes on one side ( farthest from the light) and no noticeable air on the other side closest to the light.

That just means that air is getting in and out. There is no fan inside circulating air to reduce hot and cool spots.
Quail eggs in a still air incubator need to be kept at about 102 to 103. Under 100 is too cool. And you need to move your eggs around so that no egg stays in the same spot for more than a few days at a time.

Thank you so much! ^^ i can definitely keep the temp around 100-102 i was mainly worried that 102 was too high. I will turn my eggs at least 3 times a day, more likely a few extra times as well. Right now i have non fertilized quail eggs in there from the food store just for practice ^^; i turn them etc, lol just getting ready for my eggs i got in today. I can also move the eggs closest to the light further and ones further closer every so often ^^

Little update on my eggs~ even though ive had trouble keeping the temp exact, every egg i candled today has life ( i candled about 13-16 (out of 20) for a few seconds, so they werent out of the warmth too long) i even found one with a super visable heartbeat. I didnt see any others actually beating, but i did see a mass and veins in every egg i checked, so thats cool at least :) i hope they live long enough to hatch ^^
