I don't don't know, if not for bugs, I'd say it's just the natural course of things. As long as thy're still laying.

Oyster shells provide calcium.

Your girls will need at least 16% protein in their feed. A commercial layer ration should have at least that. What kind of feed are you giving them?

Also, there is such a thing as a "feather mite" that causes chickens to go bald. Sevin dus all day long! smile.png
