Home made incubator

This is Drew and Logan who are doing a science project on hatching eggs with a home made incubator that they put together. The other part of their project is at Logan's house which is the hen and her clutch. On dat 7 we could see the dark spot and veins in the white Sultun eggs. Because the temperature would not level off I bought the other incubator from TSC so now what will we do even if 50% of the eggs hatch? I'm not ready for 24chicks yet!

Good luck guys, chicks are fun, if you get over run with them you can always advertise for them on your local Facebook page or craiglist.

Just an update on Drew and Logan on their science project, They did take a 1st place ribbon and they each got a plaque. There were more than 1 first place winner because of the different catagories, so going by their point system they were third highest in points out of five 7th grade classes. Their final conclusion of broody hen verses home made incubator was that a broody hen hatches a higher percentage of eggs over the incubator. They also did eggtopsies on about a dozen eggs and reported on possible death causes and age of development. So proud of these two boys. And they both have only raised chickens for a year.
