Chick pipped sometime between midnight and 6am... but was right at the bottom instead of on top. I had commented online and someone told me they usually turn those pips right side up so babies do now drown....so I SUPER FAST- opened my bator for a few seconds, rotated Right side up and closed the lid. Humidity and all was fine and holding at 70%,,, as soon as I shut the lid, another egg pipped- which was cool to see!-- but please tell me I did the right thing... NEWBIE! PIcs attached of the original pip and then once I rotated and the second egg pipped.

Perfectly fine! If you'd had a humidity drop, you can throw in a few wet warm rags to help bring it back up.
Yes it's important to make sure those wrong-end pippers don't drown, as this is both the internal and the external pip. They are more likely to need assistance in the end, so watch them carefully.
If you are breeding these chicks I wouldn't recommend using this wrong-end pipper as a breeder just in case it's genetic. But if you're using them just for laying or for pets, they'll be great! Hope your little wrong-end pippers hatch well! Please let us know :)
