(look at the cool color coming in on her!), but the rest are boys.
 
Very exciting to see the growth on your BLRW. I have been obsessed with this breed for several years, I was able to purchase some chicks soon to arrive and hatch 8 myself of this breed on April 14th so they are just 2 weeks old. I did not read all the post but did the theory on early feathering being pullets prove to be at all true? I had a black french copper maran hatch out a surprise clutch last year, ended up out of 9 chicks only 3 were pullets. What was really interesting it was not a planned breeding and the father was a blue BLRW, the 3 hens we kept from this hatch are stunning and each so different but have the body type of a wyandotte. Out of the 8 blrw chicks 1 is splash, possible 3 black and possibly 4 blue, they are a breed slow to mature. I do enjoy this breed so much and have enjoyed your thread.
 
Thank you so much! It's eat to know others enjoy this. I think that is the problem with the blues, you say yours are slow to mature but I feel like mine have grown soooo fast since day one. I've read on here that you should not listen to others nor attempt to sex this breed until it crows/lays, but I do not know if that applies to six week olds with combs and wattles like mine! Hehe, I think I might have all boys from this batch. I have the tiniest glimmer of hope for number one though. I do have three more almost three week olds, one of which I'm positive will be a roo. They all came from the same guy as straight run, so again... I don't know if mine are just fast to mature or if I'm just picking out all Roos !

Lol I'm aware of it, the sad part is picking one and getting rid of the rest. What's is everyone's opinion on colors? I may have a black laced hen coming so a splash would be nice for a roo to make all blue chicks.
