Run question regarding Raccons

I am in the process of building my new run. I am going with 8' high walls for the pen made from pressure treated lumber that will be covered with hardware cloth to keep the critters out. With that said, I am contemplating incoming critters over the top . I do not think a fox or coyote could ever climb the walls but I am wondering if Raccons would be able to climb it? If so, then I will have to enclose the top too-which is more expense. Any thoughts on this? Thanks for any and all advice

Enclose the top.
Raccoons can climb anything including sheer walls. They're one of the only animals that can descend a tree head first.
You can't build a fence high enough to thwart raccoons.
Foxes can jump 10+ feet.

I just locked mine into a strong coop at night. I covered the run just for Hawks. I didn't worry about critters during the day, but I'm in a suburban area. My dogs keep things out of the yard during the day.

When I had hens myself I had a Borzoi, he'd kill anything that tried to come in the yard and threaten my other animals.

I'm a taxidermist, so I always have pelts drying, stretching, etc. I keep the uninvited critters away with human hair. You don't need much, I get some from my hair stylist and I place it in knee highs. They last about 45 days, I have found this works great for coons, yotes, possums, skunks. Good luck
