Hovabator 1588 temp off? help!

Stick with the new technology! Try a hatch and see how it goes. The eggs hatch date doesn't lie!

Thanks guys!

Birds are hatching, everything seems okay, 20/25 so far.

34 chucker chicks 99% hatch

I have 2 gennis 1588 with auto temp control. Both have held perfect 99.9 for last 2 months. It never changes when removing top like little giants and have never jumped from 100 to 110 like little giants.Did you put theromenter on top of eggs in turner.Mine was so accurate I leave theromenters out.Hatchs have been almost 100%.They say not to adjust it till you try 1 hatch.I liked mine so much I bought another and may get 1 more.Be careful about water. If you fill up # 1 it can get too high. The humindity is very easy to maintain and raise to 65% when ready with a turkey baster.I hatched out 43 a+m,s 2 weeks ago, every egg and 30 some chucker chicks all but one,i took that one out thought it was dead,it wasn't.Id try it as is.I did set mine down one day and the adjustment must have gotten mashed.I came in a while later it was on 80,i quickly raised it back to 100

I put a thermometer on the top (lid) and one at the bottom on the tray beside the turner. Both read 101 degrees when my hovabator was reading 99.3 degrees.

My first hatch was 25/30 eggs (I started with 42, 9 were non starters, two had blood rings, and one quit early)

I did eggtopsys yesterday on my last 5 eggs, one was deformed (bad beak) one couldn't get out appeared it may have drown in the egg, third was positioned incorrectly, his/her head was at the small end and couldn't pip, and the other two quit at about day 14 if I had to guess.

If anything, my humidity was high this hatch by following hovabators instructions.

I don't know if I should go with my previous hatch temperature and drop the humidity a bit.

chuckars 36 0ut38,thru one away that was alive

ist hatch 48 out 50

When I put theromenter in mine, both show 99.9. I runr the humindity between 43 to 49, and 65 % the last three days.If you trust your theromenters you can move it down 1/10 degree at a time. hovator says if your ist hatch is off you can lower it a little at a time, try 1/2 degree maybe.I would probally drop it at least1/2 degree, maybe to 100 at ist. Both humdinty and temp can be caliberated, read directions to do this.TRY LOWERING TEMP BEFORE YOU CALIBERATE IT.I think if you keep your humdinty between 39 and below 55 the ist of hatch you will be fine.I have been trying to have a minimum of 40% and not higher than 49 or so.hovator says 39% to 55% ist and 55% to 65% last 3 and not to go over 65%.Maybe you got the one in a 100 that the temp is off.Keep me in touch.I just got a deal to sell every white quail and chucker chick for $1.00 ea.Cheap, but still better than nothing.I can hatch 140 white in 17 days or 46 chuckars in 23.The chucker eggs are $5.00 ea, but oh well. When you get temp right get another with out turner and swap them into second one to hatch.Keep me in touch.I will go study my directions again.
