I'm mostly tool-illiterate. I have a few things that I bought for basic stuff (circular saw and jigsaw, stuff like that) but I need a nailer. I can't figure out what i'm looking for. I need an all purpose nailer for stuff like building coops, nests, etc. Do I have to have an air compressor? Is there such thing as having ONE nailer or do you have to have different sizes? I'm confused

NoooO! Hammer bad. See, this THING happens when I use a hammer. It's painful. Not only that, but I wind up having to put 8,000 nails in stuff because I do it wrong. So yeah. I want something I can aim.

So can't you get a screw and screwdriver, if you miss, you redo it tongue2

Yeah, that's what I do. And I spend a lot more time redoing than doing....

You can buy an electric one and it should take a variety of sizes. An air powered one might be too strong if your not as strong or handy as you'd like to be. You can't just aim though. The gun has to be flush tight with the wood, or you'll have nails popping out. Good luck and remember safety first.

Screwdriver- hah! Remind me to show ya'll what happened last time I built something with screws. The goats won't even play on it.

I did however build goat-henge outside out of tree branches and scrap wood, and that was pretty sturdy.

I'll definately have to practise with the gun, but it would make things go SO much faster than whanging in nails. I'm impatient. I'll admit it. I need instant gratification.

Oh Cynthina..I SOOoooo know what you mean about a hammer. I get this natural body reaction...when I pick up a hammer...I pee a little. LOL I scare myself!!! ME...plus hammer...NOT GOOD!
I think it was TSC that had a pretty good one. I think electric. If you go the the Home depot....and just explain to them what you are looking for..they are most likely to steer you in the right direction. DONT BUY IT THEN!! Look around...get more " direction" from the ehemmm " professionals" then, go to the local pawn shop! You can usually get a pretty good one there CHEEEEP!! I got hubby a STIHL...shoots 2 and 3 inch nails....for $40.00. He already has the BIG compressor...and let me tell you...this thing has been a blessing. ( and they are fun to use altho a little bit dangerous) LOL

My husband let me use the nail gun a few times building our expensive pole barn and it would shoot out two nails at a time in one hjole if I did not place the head just right. I am pretty good with a hammer so I am concerned if you hurt yourself with a hammer God Help you with something electric and powerful! P.S. ACT SWEET and BLOND and get someone to do it for you! Lauging.... Be NICE my blond BYC Family members! oxoxox
