I'm so sorry for your loss :( It sounds like it was coccidia. I have a hen come down with that (and some other internal parasites). We tried to treat it but she had a seizure and just died. It's actually contagious so watch the rest of your flock. If you have a vet they can do fecal tests for it.

We put DE in their food now
